Universe In The Mind is the rock ballad composition released with the music video, where the main topic is about creating the personal universe in the mind, flying there over and staying afloat in the imagination, since the universe does not recognize any borders, so there is no any escape.

The song is starting with the narration of the author who implies that before the time there was nothing, but it does not mean the empty black place, nothing means simply no existence, being null and void.

After this description the big bang – the creation of the universe occurs inside of the mind, as in the music video the view goes to the mouth of the story-teller and enters into the brain, following the guitar player in the space on the spot.

Then the dream girl – who is actually the reason of all the feelings that are the cause of the mindful universe creation, walking in the dreams of the author. Thinking of her charm brings him to flying into the sky and giving a kiss to the heaven. She is standing as a queen in the center of the thoughts.

However, the author does not wish that the dreamy girl will stay always as a dream, rather than coming to the reality, by calling her appearing in the life and giving a golden shine in the sky. In the universe we see the blackness, although there are billions of stars and the Sun shining to us with the blazing brightness. Yet it is still the black place. With keeping the feelings in the dreams is like having the universe with the all beauties in the far from the distance, but with the blackness, emptiness and coldness.

Although it is still about emptiness and blackness, this is not the voidness, because there are the feelings that the dreams bring forward. That is why – Life without your love is void – referring to the narration words, before the universe. Before the universe is before the feelings. With the feelings there is no voidness any more, there is a beauty, colors, stars, but there is also black empty place. With no borders. Let’s fly and fly, till the end – hey but sorry there is no end there. So just keep flying 🙂

Living with the dreamy creature – when you sleep it also sleeps, when you wake up, it is waking up as well. She is shining all the time. In the night as the brightest star – not the Moon, because it is about being so far away, the Moon is just few steps from the Earth though 😀 – and in the morning, the brightest sunshine!

Living with the dream means that you are nothing outside – just the darkness in the deep and being dead- whatever happens is in the inner world where the author feels himself alive.

Those dreams, those feelings are cuddling the all thoughts. Bringing stars to the mindful space and generating the universe – the cold and dark paradise! The author is getting lost there, yet there is a hope coming from the brightness in the distance that the dreams will come to the reality, making him to go for them.

But despite of that hope the narrator decides that he is still going to stay in this universe, because there is no any other choice yet, there is no borders and no way out.

The song has some innovative features in musical side. In the vocal, Orkhan Efendi sang in high notes despite of being bass baritone, but by using the mixed singing technique (between falsetto and a normal voice) the notes that do not include his vocal timbre.

Before the end of the song the bluesy piano improvisation is combined with the eastern elements – mugham (Bayaty-Shiraz mode – the bride of the music).

The artwork was drawn specially for the song, inspiring from its music and the text, depicting the head of the author and everything in the dreams, imagination in the mind that you can see the mixture of different vibes flowing across to the right side. The work was created by talented artist Asad Sultanli, who was also the one draw the artwork for Efendi’s another song with the name of Winter Sun.

“Universe In The Mind” is a “mixture of everything” song on the topics of spirituality and surrealism. It was recorded in August 2019 and released with the music video in November of the same year.

During the writing process of this song my mind was just inside of the huge mess. That is the reason why the result was a chaos of feelings and thoughts. That is what I love to do in the music, releasing your inner side as how it exists in your mind, blowing out the nude mindset into the occurrence. It is about universe in the mind, that all we have that chaos, billions of stars, breathtaking beauties, but black, cold, empty place, where we don’t know to which place to go. There is no upright, downright, left and right. We are just in nothingness, getting lost in the depth. Pinch me when I go too deep there and when you need me to regain my consciousness
